Thinking dice are a perfect resource to use at the start of a lesson to engage the pupils’ interest with a fun, active, thinking activity.

  • The yellow die could be shared between pairs or a table of children to prompt recall of the previous lesson.
  • The Orange “Understanding” die and the purple “creating” die could be used at the start of a D.T project where concepts need to be understood and then new products created.

A teacher may wish to focus the whole class into one type of thinking at the start of their lesson, for example, All children using the blue die to evaluate yesterday’s artwork or geography investigation results.
